Surrounded by the ancient Aurelian Walls, which enclose part of the garden and showcase the original opus reticulatum, this residence, built at the end of the 19th century, bears clear marks of the 1950s. Spanning two levels and 200 square meters, the house features spacious terraces overlooking a refined swimming pool set in a lush garden with centuries-old palm trees. At the heart of the renovation is the living room staircase, a harmonious interplay of solids and translucencies that seamlessly connects the two levels of the house. The central theme underpinning the entire project is the juxtaposition of the contemporary, accentuated by the use of cold materials such as glass, steel and concrete, used both as structural components and decorative features, and the historical, underscored by the valorization of wooden doors and windows, as well as the restoration of the chestnut floors.
